When Sweating Makes Your Life Miserable

Jorge suffered from a common disorder that made his life miserable for over two decades. He avoided parties, avoided dating, avoided playing the sports he loved. He said he was constantly embarrassed. Jorge had suffered from excessive sweating since puberty and at the age of 34, decided it was time to do something more than wear extra undershirts and carry extra shirts and jackets to work each day. The rest of Jorge's story below...

Botox Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis
, a condition that causes excessive sweating, affects millions of people in this country. It is actually a malfunction of the sweat glands and when most people would not be sweating at all, a hyperhidrosis sufferer might find himself (or herself - this condition affects as many women as men) can be dripping wet with sweat.

If you're constantly worried about raising your arms or wearing certain colors for fear your "secret" will be exposed, you may be a victim of hyperhidrosis, now an easily treatable condition.

The embarrassment associated with this condition has severe psychological ramifications, often with negative impact on career, relationships and self esteem.

Although some sufferers find a prescription-strength anti-perspirant used daily to be a control measure, the vast majority of those with hyperhidrosis are dissatisfied or disappointed with topical products.

Botox is an FDA approved medical treatment for hyperhidrosis. Injecting small amounts of this mini-toxin into the skin containing the hyperactive sweat glands can control sweat production for more than 6 months.

Jorge has had 2 sessions of Botox for hyperhidrosis in the past 13 months and has declared himself a "new man." He's engaged to be married to a woman he hugs often, now owns 6 blue dress shirts - a color he never dared wear before - and is part of his company's basketball league.

He says, "I wish I'd known about this 20 years ago. I can't believe what a huge difference it's made in every single day of my life! If I have a hero, it's Botox."

How Does It Work?

Thermage -  Cosmetic Effects of Heating the Skin

Thermage

"I was looking for a simple no-surgery way to trim off a few years along with the jowls that were becoming an unpleasant reality. Firming up my jawline made a bigger difference than I'd ever expected. My aging baby tummy is next in line. I'm wondering if I can Thermage my entire body..."

Radio Waves for Tightening Skin

The idea of radio frequency to tighten the skin may seem hard to accept.

How radio waves behave in human tissue is the key to it's novel effectiveness.

Heat causes contraction and also causes a thermal "wound". These two responses to heat is what Thermage is all about.

As the radio waves travel in the skin tissue, there is resistance. This resistance causes an instantaneous heat buildup which in turn recoils loose collagen strands immediately.

The secondary reaction to the heat is a natural body response to the thermal "wound". In essence, the body instructs the fibroblasts in the skin to respond by creating new collagen. This fibroblast response goes on for about 6 months, generating new collagen which further tightens the skin. In 4 to 6 months your skin is even firmer than it is immediately after the Thermage treatment.

Cosmelan - A Topical Approach to Hyperpigmented Skin

Melasma - Fighting Back with Cosmelan

For decades the only way to lighten skin was with hydroquinone. It was, and still is, effective, but can be slow and highly irritating to those with sensitivities to the necessary preservatives.

Cosmelan is a multi-product skin pigmentation control program. The non-hydroquinone ingredients are suitable for any skin type. Developed in Spain, Cosmelan has become a staple for cosmetic physicians who wish to offer a safe and fast-acting solution to hyperpigmentation issues such as melasma.

Hyperpigmenation is caused by overproduction of melanin, the "color" in our skin. Cosmelan action is based on the inhibition of tyrosinase, a basic enzyme in the melanin formation process. Several of the substances present in the Cosmelan formula act by blocking this enzyme.

Treatment begins with a mask applied in the office and left on for several hours or overnight. The surface skin peels, taking with it the melanin that shows as blotchy melasma and hyperpigmentation.
