Aging - California Style
Fighting back with the Dynamic Duo
If you're seeing a
mixture of skin problems from years in the
sun, forgetting to use sunscreen, dry climate,
lack of sleep, and an on the go lifestyle - PLUS the effects
of natural aging, then chances are the following are some of
the issues you're troubled with
- Rough skin texture with or
without enlarged pores
- Splotchy skin color and brown
spots (Thank you Mr. Sunshine!)
- Wrinkles and
lines
- Dark circles under your eyes
- Jowls, flatter cheeks, a
disappearing jaw line
-
Sagging skin on
the face and neck
- A fatigued
appearance
Our Dynamic Duo
There's
no single fix that will reverse all these issues, but there
are customizable combinations of treatments that can have
serious positive impact on your skin's appearance and on how
young you look. Our Dynamic Duo is
TotalFX Laser and
Radiesse.
Maybe you won't need both, but if you do,
they're unbeatable companion procedures because the TotalFX
is a combination surface and deep dermal laser treatment that tackles everything from fine to moderate wrinkling, lax and
sagging skin on face and neck, pigmentation or discoloration, rough texture...and
Radiesse is an instant action long term
filler material that is effective for 18 to 24 months. Dr.
Mani uses Radiesse for filling deeper wrinkles and facial
folds, lifting the cheeks, adding projection the the chin,
restoring facial volume and
- along with Juvederm or Restylane - raising the tip of the
nose, hiding bumps or humps and softening age-related
angularity.

Illustrative Purposes Only
"I'd
always poo-poo-ed the idea of a facelift until I decided I
actually was beginning to eed one. With the treatments I've had here, I
honestly don't think I'll ever have to have surgery."

Resurfacing
Lasers
Lasers are very highly focused light beams. These beams are
filtered in such a way as to be absorbed by colored pigment
(such as pigment in hair, in the skin, in spider veins)
or by water in the skin's tissues.
Resurfacing lasers heat the water in the
skin to the point of vaporization - all in a millisecond. At that
instant, the tissue in the selected area is "ablated"- or
removed. Medical terminology refers to these lasers as
ablative. (Non ablative lasers don't remove any tissue
at all, but have their effect under the top layer of skin)
Fractional technology allows
microscopic columns of tissue to be ablated. This technology
provides even more precision by choosing both the depth of these
treatment columns
and how many columns are created in each laser "spot".
Deeper columns create deeper
tightening of tissue. More columns create a more global
tightening and also more effect on skin texture and color
correction.
The end result is a
contraction of tissue that can, at higher percent range of
coverages, approximate tightening
effects close to 30-40% of the tightening gained in a
facelift.
Patients must be properly
selected. Severe sagging and skin laxity may only be
appreciably corrected by true surgery.

Skin Resurfacing has taken a huge leap with fractional
technology. Long term fillers with collagen stimulating
power act as injectable implants with near-surgical results.
Learn about these procedures at our upcoming in-office seminar.
